Great article on the research of musics effect on the mind-body: enough time has passed to prove that the study of the brain on music yields beneficial results. Improvements in childhood education and mitigation of certain brain and body disorders are among the benefits. The goal of the field is also clear now: to study what makes us human so we can better understand each other and the world.

Our brain is equipped with billions of neurons. They must effectively and efficiently communicate with one another so that we human beings and all life form with a brain can function and survive.

Nerve activation is the beginning, but this isn’t enough this activation triggers an electrical and chemical path of communication from another nerve, an organ, or another part of the body. The electrical process takes place first with a change in positive and negative charges within and without the nerve cell.

The electrical message travels the entire nerve axon. The electrical process is complete as the charge signals a neurotransmitter, which is a molecules. It travels out into the gap between nerve cells, called the synapse and finds and connect itself to another neuron. This process is like fitting a piece to a puzzle. Not all neurotransmitters will fit. It not they have to be reabsorbed by the sending neuron.

The neurotransmitters
have many different affects on the body: thinking, learning, dreaming, feelings, what we can do, our mood, appetite, smelling freshly baked French bread, the ability to change and much more.
